Winter Open Exhibition

Willow Gallery, Oswestry

On show

It's always a bit daunting taking your craftwork to show gallery owners. However, my trip to meet Anthony at Willow Gallery in Oswestry, Shropshire was a much more uplifting experience than I expected. He was really supportive, and had lots of insights to share, particularly about pricing work for exhibition.

Willow Gallery was set up as a Community Interest, not-for-profit gallery in a disused car showroom in the town centre. It has a busy cafe and a shop selling a wide variety of craft from the Shropshire Guild of Contemporary Craft. It has a real community buzz about it and is always busy.

Twin Trees, mixed media mosaic (50 x 50 cms) £360

Anthony was generous to suggest leaving some smaller mosaic pieces for sale in the shop and he selected three larger mosaics for inclusion in the seasonal Winter Open Exhibition. So my early foray into the wider design world was a positive one!
